Part-Time Post Office Assistant & Shop Supervisor
Pay: £13.70 per hour
Hours: Average 17.5 hours per week (3-week revolving rota, including 1 in 3 Saturday mornings)
Contract: Part-time
Location: In-store at Oake Community Shop, TA4 1JA
About the Role: We are looking for a reliable, friendly, and detail-oriented Post Office Assistant & Shop Supervisor to join our valued community enterprise. You will play a key role in serving our loyal local customers, managing daily Post Office transactions, and keeping the shop running smoothly.
Key Responsibilities
- Post Office Services: Handle postal transactions, foreign currency sales, banking services, and Amazon/DPD parcel processing.
- Shop Operations: Manage and order stock as necessary, pricing stock, check in/out newspapers and magazines, and complete daily till cashing-up, opening and closing shop.
- Team Leadership: Support and guide our fantastic shop volunteers.
What We Are Looking For
- Strong literacy and numeracy skills.
- Confident with basic IT and Microsoft computer systems.
- Excellent customer service skills and a friendly community spirit.
- Flexibility to cover shifts during staff holidays or sickness is essential.
- Previous experience in a Post Office or banking setting would be a strong advantage but not essential.
