About the Role
Our client is seeking a creative and skilled Pastry Chef to join their dynamic catering team in Glasgow . You will be responsible for crafting a wide array of delectable desserts, pastries, breads, and other baked goods for various events and clients. This role requires a passion for patisserie, meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced kitchen environment. As a key member of our culinary brigade, you will have the opportunity to showcase your artistic flair and contribute to the exceptional dining experiences we provide.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and bake a variety of high-quality pastries, desserts, cakes, and breads according to established recipes.
- Develop new and innovative dessert creations, considering seasonal ingredients and current culinary trends.
- Ensure all baked goods meet the highest standards of taste, presentation, and consistency.
- Manage pastry section inventory, including ordering ingredients and maintaining stock levels.
- Maintain impeccable hygiene and cleanliness in the pastry section and adhere to food safety regulations.
- Collaborate with the Head Chef and other kitchen team members to ensure cohesive menu offerings for events.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Pastry Chef or in a similar dedicated pastry role.
- Strong knowledge of baking techniques, dough lamination, sugar work, and chocolate tempering.
- Excellent attention to detail and a creative eye for dessert presentation.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a busy kitchen environment in Glasgow .
- Good understanding of food safety and hygiene practices.
- A passion for confectionery and a desire to continuously improve culinary skills.
