Position Overview
The Payments Issuing Product Manager will lead the evaluation, development, and management of Arrive’s mobility card issuance while exploring broader build vs. buy opportunities. This role is responsible for overseeing the full lifecycle of payment/card solutions (both physical and virtual), designing operational and compliance processes, and integrating systems to ensure successful market implementation and adoption. The role will also help shape strategy, ensure regulatory compliance, and collaborate cross-functionally to align product development with Arrive’s mobility and payments goals.
Roles And Responsibilities
I. Strategic Product Ownership
- Issuing Strategy: Lead the full product lifecycle for our mobility card issuing (physical and virtual), driving the product roadmap, and defining the build vs. buy strategy for new capabilities.
- Global Expansion: Define and execute the plan to expand payment capabilities across multiple jurisdictions, expertly navigating regional card regulations, local compliance frameworks, and card scheme requirements (Visa, Mastercard, etc.).
- Stakeholder Management: Manage relationships and negotiate with crucial external partners, including Fintechs, Card Schemes, Third-Party Providers, and card personalization vendors.
II. Operational Excellence & Compliance
- Compliance: Ensure 100% compliance with all applicable card scheme regulations (Mastercard, Visa, etc.) and regional regulatory requirements across US and European markets.
- Operational Design: Design and analyze complex back-office processes (e.g., dispute management, reversals) and collaborate with internal teams to establish scalable, sustainable workflows.
- Execution Structure: Structure and standardize product development stages using Agile methodologies (user stories, assessment, pilot definition, etc.), collaborating comfortably with global, multi-country teams.
III. Data-Driven Growth
- Growth Strategy: Analyze user experience and implement product strategies specifically designed to drive B2B adoption and growth in card applications and usage.
- Performance Monitoring: Define, monitor, and report on core KPIs, including card usage, enabled sales, cost, NPS/Customer Satisfaction, and fraud/compliance metrics. Use this data to continually prioritize the product backlog and maximize financial performance (including budget and card brand incentives).
Key Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Bank, Payment, Business or a related field (advanced degree preferred)
- 10+ years of product management experience in payments, fintech or related industries, with direct experience in card issuing and launching new payment products
- Hands-on expertise with virtual card solutions; exposure to mobility card use cases (fuel cards, mobility expense management, EV charging, parking) strongly preferred
- Experience operating across both European and U.S. markets, with an understanding of regional customer needs (user stories), competitive landscapes, and regulatory requirements
- Demonstrated ability to build and scale products from the ground up, including product strategy, partner selection/management, and cross-functional execution
- Being able to monitor key performance indicators and make informed strategic decisions
- Desired qualities: proactive, innovative and collaborative mindset, excellent communication skills.
