About the Role
Our client is seeking a meticulous and reliable Payroll Administrator to join their human resources and finance functions in Reading . This hybrid role is responsible for the accurate and timely processing of payroll for all employees, ensuring compliance with current legislation and company policies. You will handle queries from employees and external bodies, manage payroll data, and contribute to the smooth operation of the payroll function. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of payroll processes and a commitment to confidentiality and accuracy, working effectively in a blended office and remote setup.
Key Responsibilities
- Process weekly and monthly payroll accurately and in accordance with deadlines.
- Ensure compliance with all statutory payroll requirements, including PAYE, National Insurance, and pensions.
- Manage and process employee data changes, such as new starters, leavers, and salary adjustments.
- Respond to employee payroll queries and resolve issues in a professional and timely manner.
- Prepare and submit payroll reports to management and relevant authorities.
- Assist with year-end payroll processes, including P60s and P11Ds.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Payroll Administrator or in a similar payroll role.
- Good understanding of UK payroll legislation and procedures.
- Proficiency in payroll software (e.g., Sage Payroll, Xero Payroll) and Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and work effectively in a hybrid environment.
