About the Role
Our client is seeking a detail-oriented and efficient Payroll Administrator to join their finance department in Reading , Berkshire. This role is essential for ensuring the accurate and timely processing of payroll for all employees, managing statutory deductions, and maintaining employee payroll records. You will work within a supportive team, contributing to the smooth running of HR and finance operations. Key Responsibilities
- Process weekly or monthly payroll accurately and on time, including calculating wages, deductions, and statutory payments (e.g., PAYE, NI, pensions).
- Manage employee data changes, ensuring accuracy in the payroll system for starters, leavers, and salary adjustments.
- Administer company pension schemes, including enrollment, contributions, and reconciliation.
- Prepare and submit payroll reports to management and relevant authorities.
- Ensure compliance with all current payroll legislation and HMRC requirements in the UK .
- Respond to employee queries regarding payroll information and discrepancies in a timely and professional manner.
Requirements
- Previous experience in a Payroll Administrator or similar role.
- Good understanding of PAYE, National Insurance, and other statutory deductions.
- Proficiency with payroll software and Microsoft Excel.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
