About the Role
Our client is seeking a precise and reliable Payroll Administrator to manage the payroll process for their employees in Stoke-on-Trent . This hybrid role involves ensuring accurate and timely processing of salaries, deductions, and statutory payments, while maintaining up-to-date employee payroll records. You will work closely with HR and finance departments to resolve payroll queries and ensure compliance with current legislation. Key Responsibilities
- Process weekly or monthly payroll accurately, including new starters, leavers, and changes to employee data.
- Calculate and process statutory deductions such as PAYE, National Insurance, and pensions.
- Manage and process employee expense claims and holiday pay.
- Respond to payroll-related queries from employees and external bodies in a timely and professional manner.
- Ensure compliance with current payroll legislation and company policies.
- Prepare and submit payroll reports to management and relevant authorities.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Payroll Administrator or in a similar payroll processing role.
- In-depth knowledge of UK payroll legislation, PAYE, and National Insurance calculations.
- Proficiency with payroll software (e.g., Sage Payroll, Xero Payroll, Star Payroll) and Microsoft Excel .
- Excellent attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
- Strong organisational and time-management skills to meet strict deadlines.
- Ability to handle sensitive information with the utmost confidentiality.
