About the Role
Our client is seeking an efficient and accurate Payroll Administrator to join their finance team in Edinburgh . This hybrid role involves managing the end-to-end payroll process for a significant number of employees, ensuring timely and correct payment. You will be responsible for processing payroll data, handling queries, and ensuring compliance with all relevant statutory regulations. Working within a supportive team, you will experience a balanced approach to work, combining essential office presence with the flexibility of remote days. This is a key role for maintaining employee satisfaction and ensuring accurate financial administration.
Key Responsibilities
- Process weekly and/or monthly payroll accurately and efficiently using payroll software.
- Calculate and process statutory deductions, including PAYE, National Insurance, and pensions.
- Manage joiners, leavers, and changes to employee pay information, ensuring data integrity.
- Respond to employee payroll queries in a timely and professional manner.
- Liaise with HMRC and pension providers regarding relevant submissions and queries.
- Ensure compliance with current payroll legislation and company policies.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Payroll Administrator or in a similar payroll processing role.
- Proficiency with payroll software (e.g., Sage Payroll, ADP, Star) and MS Excel.
- Solid understanding of UK payroll regulations, tax codes, and statutory payment calculations.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and calculations.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills, comfortable with both office and remote interactions.
- Ability to manage sensitive information confidentially.
