About the Role
Our client is seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Payroll Administrator to manage their payroll operations in Southampton . This role involves processing end-to-end payroll for all employees, ensuring accuracy and compliance with current legislation. You will be responsible for managing employee queries related to payroll, processing new starters and leavers, and liaising with HMRC. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of payroll processes and possess excellent administrative and communication skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Process weekly or monthly payroll accurately and on time for all employees.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant payroll legislation , tax regulations, and statutory payments.
- Manage employee queries regarding pay, deductions, and holiday pay.
- Process new starters, leavers, and any changes to employee details (e.g., salary adjustments, bank details).
- Liaise with HMRC regarding PAYE, National Insurance, and other statutory obligations.
- Prepare and distribute payroll reports to management and other departments.
Requirements
- Previous experience as a Payroll Administrator or in a similar payroll processing role.
- Knowledge of current UK payroll legislation and tax rules.
- Proficiency with payroll software (e.g., Star, IRIS) and Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data handling.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to handle employee queries effectively.
