About the Role
Our client is looking for a detail-oriented Payroll Administrator to join their team in Portsmouth . This role supports the accurate and timely processing of payroll for all employees, ensuring compliance with current legislation. Operating on a hybrid model, you will benefit from a balance of office-based team interaction and remote working flexibility. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all aspects of the payroll cycle, from data input to final reconciliation, playing a vital role in employee compensation and benefits administration.
Key Responsibilities
- Process weekly or monthly payroll accurately and on time, including new starters, leavers, and changes to terms and conditions.
- Ensure compliance with HMRC regulations, PAYE, National Insurance, and other statutory deductions.
- Respond to payroll-related queries from employees and external bodies.
- Prepare and submit relevant payroll reports to management and regulatory authorities.
- Maintain accurate employee payroll records and ensure data confidentiality.
- Assist with year-end payroll procedures, including P60s and P11Ds.
Requirements
- Experience in a payroll processing role, ideally with knowledge of UK payroll legislation.
- Proficiency in payroll software (e.g., Sage Payroll, Xero Payroll) and Excel.
- Understanding of PAYE, National Insurance, statutory sick pay, and other payroll calculations.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage sensitive information.
- Good organisational and time-management skills.
- Comfortable working in a hybrid model, adapting to both office and remote tasks.
