About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly organised and experienced Payroll Manager to lead their payroll operations in Cambridge . This vital role ensures accurate and timely processing of payroll for all employees, managing compliance with current legislation and maintaining the highest standards of data confidentiality. You will oversee the payroll function, ensuring all statutory deductions and payments are handled correctly, and will be the go-to person for all payroll-related queries. This is an excellent opportunity for a dedicated payroll professional to manage a critical function within a growing organisation, ensuring employees are paid accurately and on time, working within a supportive and professional framework.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the end-to-end payroll process for all employees, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Ensure compliance with all current payroll legislation, including PAYE, National Insurance, and pension auto-enrolment.
- Process new starters, leavers, and changes to employee terms and conditions affecting payroll.
- Reconcile payroll reports and resolve any discrepancies promptly.
- Liaise with HMRC and pension providers as required.
- Respond to and resolve employee queries relating to their pay.
Requirements
- Proven experience in managing a payroll function, ideally in a managerial or supervisory capacity.
- Thorough understanding of UK payroll legislation, including PAYE, NI, and statutory payments.
- Proficiency in payroll software (e.g., Sage Payroll, Xero Payroll) and Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong organisational and time-management skills.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills, able to handle sensitive information with discretion.
