About the Role
Our client is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Payroll Manager to manage their payroll operations on a fully remote basis. This role is responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely processing of payroll for all employees, maintaining compliance with relevant legislation, and managing payroll systems. You will work independently, ensuring the smooth running of payroll functions from start to finish, while also providing support and guidance to employees on payroll-related queries. The successful candidate will possess a thorough understanding of UK payroll regulations and a commitment to maintaining data accuracy and confidentiality in a remote working environment. Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the end-to-end processing of weekly and monthly payroll for a large employee base.
- Ensure accurate calculation of wages, deductions, and statutory payments (PAYE, NI, Pensions).
- Manage payroll system updates, ensuring compliance with legislative changes and company policies.
- Process new starters, leavers, and changes to employee details accurately and promptly.
- Respond to employee queries regarding pay, deductions, and expenses in a timely and professional manner.
- Conduct regular payroll reconciliations and prepare reports for management and finance departments.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Payroll Manager or in a senior payroll role, with a deep understanding of UK payroll legislation.
- Proficiency with payroll software such as **Sage Payroll**, **PayWell**, or similar systems.
- Experience with auto-enrolment pensions and statutory payment calculations (SSP, SMP, etc.).
- Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy in data processing.
- Strong organisational and time-management skills, essential for remote working.
