Payroll Manager

About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced and organised Payroll Manager to oversee their payroll operations in Bristol . This critical role ensures the accurate and timely processing of payroll for all employees, while maintaining compliance with relevant legislation. You will manage a small payroll team, liaise with HR and finance departments, and continuously improve payroll processes. Key Responsibilities

• Manage the end-to-end payroll process, ensuring accuracy and timeliness for all employees.
• Oversee statutory payments, including PAYE, National Insurance, and pensions auto-enrolment.
• Ensure compliance with current payroll legislation and company policies.
• Manage and develop the payroll team, providing guidance and support.
• Liaise with external payroll providers, HMRC, and other relevant bodies.
• Reconcile payroll data with financial accounts and resolve any discrepancies.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Payroll Manager or Senior Payroll Specialist.
• In-depth knowledge of UK payroll legislation, including PAYE, NI, and statutory payments.
• Experience with payroll software systems (e.g., Sage Payroll, Xero Payroll) and HRIS.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data processing.
• Excellent organisational and time-management skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively with employees and stakeholders in a hybrid environment based in Bristol .
