Payroll Specialist

About the Role

Our client is seeking an organised and detail-oriented Payroll Specialist to manage their payroll processes, operating on a hybrid model in Glasgow . This role is crucial for ensuring that all employees are paid accurately and on time, in compliance with statutory requirements. You will be responsible for the end-to-end payroll cycle, from data input to query resolution, and will work closely with HR and finance teams. This position offers a great chance to take ownership of payroll operations within a supportive team structure.

Key Responsibilities

• Process the full monthly payroll cycle accurately and efficiently, ensuring compliance with PAYE, National Insurance, and other statutory deductions.
• Manage employee data changes, including new starters, leavers, and amendments to pay and deductions.
• Respond to employee queries regarding payroll, pay slips, and benefits in a timely and professional manner.
• Reconcile payroll reports and prepare necessary submissions to HMRC and pension providers.
• Assist with the administration of employee benefits, such as pensions and salary sacrifice schemes.
• Support HR and finance teams with payroll-related information and reporting.

Requirements

• Proven experience in payroll processing, preferably within a UK context.
• Familiarity with current payroll legislation and statutory requirements.
• Proficiency in payroll software (e.g., Sage Payroll, ADP) and Microsoft Excel.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
