Job Description
A growing accountancy practice in Southampton is looking for an experienced Payroll Supervisor to join their expanding payroll bureau team.
This is a great opportunity for a payroll professional who enjoys managing client relationships, delivering accurate payroll services, and working within a supportive and professional environment.
The Role
You will be responsible for managing the end-to-end payroll process for a portfolio of clients, ensuring accurate, compliant, and timely delivery of weekly and monthly payrolls.
Key Responsibilities
• Manage multiple client payrolls from start to finish
• Process and review payroll calculations, PAYE, NI, statutory payments, and pensions
• Act as the main contact for payroll clients, handling queries and providing support
• Ensure HMRC compliance, RTI submissions, and payroll reporting requirements are met
• Support client onboarding and payroll system setup
• Prepare year-end documentation including P60s and P11Ds
• Assist with process improvements and support the wider payroll team
About You
• Previous payroll experience within an accountancy practice, bureau, or outsourced payroll environment
• Strong knowledge of UK payroll legislation, PAYE, NI, pensions, and statutory payments
• Ability to manage multiple payrolls and deadlines accurately
• Excellent attention to detail and client service skills
• Experience with Staffology and/or IRIS payroll software would be advantageous
