About the Role
Our client is seeking a proactive and skilled Penetration Tester to join their cybersecurity team based in Plymouth, Devon, UK . This role involves simulating cyber-attacks to identify vulnerabilities in our client's networks, applications, and systems. You will be instrumental in assessing the effectiveness of existing security controls, providing detailed reports on findings, and recommending actionable remediation steps to enhance the organization's overall security posture. Key Responsibilities
- Plan, scope, and conduct penetration tests on networks, web applications, and mobile applications.
- Identify, analyze, and document security vulnerabilities and weaknesses.
- Simulate real-world attack scenarios to test security defenses.
- Develop detailed and clear reports outlining findings, risks, and remediation recommendations.
- Collaborate with development and IT teams to ensure timely and effective remediation of vulnerabilities.
- Stay current with the latest penetration testing techniques, tools, and threat landscapes.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Penetration Tester or in a similar ethical hacking role.
- Proficiency with various penetration testing tools and methodologies.
- Strong understanding of network protocols, operating systems, and security principles.
- Experience in scripting or programming languages (e.g., Python, Bash) is a plus.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for report writing and client interaction.
- Relevant certifications such as OSCP, CEH, or GPEN are highly preferred.
