About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly skilled and ethical Penetration Tester to join their dedicated security team in Stoke-on-Trent . In this role, you will be responsible for identifying vulnerabilities in our client's systems, networks, and applications through simulated cyber attacks. Your findings and recommendations will be critical in strengthening the organisation's security defenses and reducing its exposure to real-world threats. Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive penetration tests on web applications, networks, and cloud environments.
• Perform vulnerability assessments and security audits to identify weaknesses and misconfigurations.
• Utilise a variety of security testing tools and techniques to simulate real-world attacks.
• Document findings meticulously, providing clear, actionable reports with remediation recommendations.
• Collaborate with development and IT teams to verify the effectiveness of security fixes.
• Stay abreast of the latest penetration testing methodologies and emerging threats.

Requirements

• Proven experience in penetration testing and vulnerability assessment.
• Proficiency with common penetration testing tools (e.g., Metasploit, Burp Suite, Nmap).
• Strong understanding of network protocols, operating systems, and web application security.
• Ability to interpret security vulnerabilities and translate them into practical recommendations.
• Relevant certifications such as OSCP, CEH, or CompTIA PenTest+ are a plus.
