About the Role
Our client, a leading rowing institution based in Oxford , is seeking a skilled and analytical Performance Analyst to join their elite sports science team. This critical role involves providing in-depth data analysis and insights to support the performance of their rowing squads, from junior development through to elite senior crews. You will work closely with coaches and athletes to identify key performance indicators, track progress, and develop data-driven strategies to enhance performance and achieve competitive success. Key Responsibilities
- Collect, process, and analyse performance data from training and competition using various performance analysis tools and software.
- Provide objective feedback and reports to coaches and athletes on technique, strategy, and physiological data.
- Develop and implement key performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor athlete and team progress.
- Utilise video analysis techniques to break down technical execution and tactical decision-making.
- Collaborate with the wider performance team, including strength and conditioning coaches and sports psychologists.
- Stay abreast of the latest developments in sports analytics and their application to rowing.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Performance Analyst in an elite sports setting, preferably rowing or a similar water sport.
- Proficiency in data analysis software (e.g., R, Python, SPSS) and video analysis tools (e.g., Dartfish, Hudl).
- Strong understanding of biomechanics, physiology, and training principles relevant to rowing.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and report-writing skills.
- Ability to communicate complex data insights effectively to coaches and athletes.
