Job Description
I am seeking a kind and compassionate Personal Assistant to provide support for my autistic child on a part time basis, averaging 10 hours a week in our home. This role offers an exciting opportunity to make a positive impact by assisting with personal needs, and ensuring overall well-being.
The ideal candidate will be patient, reliable, and possess excellent communication skills to foster a trusting and respectful relationship with my child.
An understanding and appreciation of autism and its additional challenges, particularly in children, is required. This paid position is perfect for someone eager to contribute to a caring environment while developing valuable skills in personal assistance and caregiving, particularly with clients with additional needs.
Having full DBS check is a requirement of this position, the cost of this will be covered by the employer.
Duties
- Provide companionship and emotional support, fostering a positive and engaging environment
- Communicate effectively with family members, providing handovers at the end of your sessions
- Potentially prepare basic meals (e.g. frozen meals in the oven) if required
- Maintain a safe and comfortable environment
