About the Role
Our client is seeking a seasoned Petroleum Geologist to join their exploration and appraisal team, supporting operations in Glasgow, Scotland, UK . In this crucial role, you will be responsible for the geological assessment of potential hydrocarbon reservoirs, integrating diverse datasets to define prospectivity and delineate resources. You will play a key part in exploration strategy formulation and play fairway analysis within the competitive Oil & Gas sector . This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on diverse geological settings and contribute to the company's growth through informed subsurface interpretation and risk assessment.
Key Responsibilities
- Interpret geological and geophysical data to identify and evaluate hydrocarbon prospects.
- Develop and refine regional and prospect-level geological models.
- Performyses of core samples, well logs, and seismic data.
- Estimate reserves and resources, and contribute to economic evaluations.
- Collaborate with reservoir engineers and geophysicists to optimize field development and exploration plans.
- Prepare and present detailed geological reports and presentations to technical and management teams.
Requirements
- MSc or PhD in Geology, Geosciences, or a related field.
- A minimum of 7 years of experience in exploration or appraisal geology within the Oil & Gas industry .
- Proficiency in geological modeling software (e.g., Petrel, Kingdom Suite).
- Strong understanding of sedimentology, stratigraphy, and structural geology.
- Experience with basin analysis and sequence stratigraphy.
- Excellent communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills, adaptable to a hybrid work environment.
