Ideal Requirements for the National Sales Manager
- Proven commercial leadership experience in Specialty Care - A strong track record of success leading pharmaceutical or biotech sales teams, with the ability to deliver sustainable growth in complex healthcare environments.
- Inspiring people leader with a passion for developing talent - Demonstrated experience building, coaching, and empowering high-performing field teams, with a focus on capability development, engagement, and achieving shared goals.
- Strategic thinker with strong business acumen - Ability to interpret market insights, customer data, competitive intelligence, and analytics to shape effective commercial strategies and drive impactful business decisions.
- Exceptional collaborator and stakeholder influencer - Skilled at building strong partnerships across Medical Affairs, Marketing, Market Access, and Patient Engagement teams to deliver aligned, patient-focused solutions.
- Experience driving successful launches and growth of innovative therapies - Proven ability to lead commercial initiatives for specialty medicines, ideally within complex treatment pathways and evolving payer and provider landscapes.
Role Responsibilities for the National Sales Manager
- Lead and inspire a high-performing national sales team - Build, coach, and develop a team of Key Account Managers and Therapeutic Specialists, creating a culture of excellence, accountability, collaboration, and continuous growth.
- Drive national commercial strategy and business performance - Own the delivery of national sales objectives, translating strategic goals into impactful field execution plans that maximise growth and improve patient outcomes.
- Champion field excellence and customer engagement - Elevate commercial execution through coaching, capability development, and innovative approaches to account management, customer engagement, segmentation, and omnichannel excellence.
- Shape strategic partnerships across the healthcare landscape - Develop trusted relationships with key healthcare professionals, treatment centres, and stakeholders, using customer insights to overcome barriers and support improved patient access.
- Influence business success through cross-functional collaboration - Partner with Marketing, Medical Affairs, Market Access, PACE, and Commercial Excellence teams to drive strategic initiatives, provide market insights, and support successful business planning and launches.
