Pharmaceutical Process Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a skilled and innovative Pharmaceutical Process Engineer to join their manufacturing facility in Edinburgh . This role is critical for optimizing and scaling up pharmaceutical manufacturing processes, ensuring efficiency, safety, and compliance with stringent industry standards. You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and improving production processes, troubleshooting issues, and driving continuous improvement initiatives. This is a hands-on role within a state-of-the-art facility, offering the opportunity to make a tangible impact on the production of life-saving medicines.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and optimize pharmaceutical manufacturing processes to enhance yield, efficiency, and product quality.
• Scale up processes from laboratory or pilot plant to full commercial production, ensuring robustness and reproducibility.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to manufacturing equipment and processes, implementing corrective actions.
• Develop and execute process validation protocols and qualification activities.
• Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, quality assurance, and R&D teams to ensure seamless process integration.
• Ensure all process activities comply with cGMP, safety regulations, and environmental standards.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in process engineering within the pharmaceutical or biopharmaceutical industry.
• Strong understanding of pharmaceutical manufacturing principles, equipment, and scale-up challenges.
• Experience with process validation, technology transfer, and cGMP compliance.
• Proficiency in process simulation software and statistical analysis tools is desirable.
