About the Role
Our client is looking for a skilled Pharmaceutical Process Engineer to join their innovative team in Derby . This role is critical for designing, implementing, and optimizing manufacturing processes to ensure the efficient and high-quality production of pharmaceutical products. You will work on scaling up processes from laboratory to commercial production, troubleshooting issues, and driving continuous improvement initiatives to enhance yield, reduce costs, and maintain regulatory compliance. The ideal candidate has a strong engineering background, a thorough understanding of pharmaceutical manufacturing, and a commitment to operational excellence within a dynamic production environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and optimize pharmaceutical manufacturing processes for solid dosage forms, sterile products, or biologics.
- Conduct process validation studies and prepare associated documentation.
- Troubleshoot production issues and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPAs).
- Collaborate with R&D, Quality Assurance, and Manufacturing teams to ensure successful technology transfer and scale-up.
- Ensure all processes comply with GMP , safety, and environmental regulations.
- Identify and implement opportunities for process improvements, automation, and cost reduction.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Pharmaceutical Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in process engineering within the pharmaceutical or biotech industry.
- Strong understanding of pharmaceutical manufacturing principles and GMP requirements.
- Experience with process validation, scale-up, and technology transfer.
- Proficiency in process simulation software and statistical analysis tools is a plus.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a hybrid team setting.
