Pharmaceutical Quality Control Chemist

About the Role

Our client is seeking a detail-oriented Pharmaceutical Quality Control Chemist to join their established laboratory in Sunderland . This role is vital in ensuring the quality, safety, and efficacy of pharmaceutical products by conducting rigorous analytical testing. You will be responsible for performing a range of tests on raw materials, in-process samples, and finished products to ensure they meet stringent regulatory standards and internal specifications. The successful candidate will be a precise and methodical scientist committed to upholding the highest quality standards in a manufacturing environment, contributing to patient well-being through unwavering quality assurance.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform quantitative and qualitative analytical tests on raw materials, intermediates, and finished pharmaceutical products using various laboratory techniques.
• Operate and maintain analytical instruments such as HPLC, GC, UV-Vis spectrophotometers, and dissolution testers.
• Document all testing procedures, results, and observations accurately in compliance with Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) and Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP).
• Investigate and troubleshoot any out-of-specification (OOS) results, deviations, or laboratory incidents.
• Prepare analytical methods and validation reports as required.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of quality control processes and laboratory operations in Sunderland .

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Science, or a closely related field.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a Quality Control laboratory environment, preferably within the pharmaceutical industry.
• Proficiency in operating and maintaining common pharmaceutical analytical instrumentation (e.g., HPLC , GC).
• Solid understanding of GMP and GLP principles.
• Excellent laboratory documentation skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
