Pharmacovigilance Manager

About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced and highly organized Pharmacovigilance Manager to lead their safety surveillance team in Glasgow . This critical role involves overseeing the collection, assessment, and reporting of adverse event data to ensure patient safety and regulatory compliance. You will manage a team of pharmacovigilance specialists, implement safety processes, and represent the company in regulatory interactions related to drug safety. The ideal candidate has a strong background in pharmacovigilance, leadership experience, and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of patient safety within the pharmaceutical industry.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the pharmacovigilance team, providing guidance and training.
• Oversee the accurate and timely processing of adverse event reports from all sources.
• Ensure compliance with global pharmacovigilance regulations (e.g., GVP modules).
• Prepare and submit aggregate safety reports (e.g., PBRERs, DSURs) to regulatory authorities.
• Develop and maintain pharmacovigilance Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and work instructions.
• Conduct signal detection activities and risk management planning for assigned products.

Requirements

• Pharmacy degree, life science degree, or equivalent medical/scientific qualification.
• Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in pharmacovigilance .
• Proven experience in managing a pharmacovigilance team or function.
• In-depth knowledge of global regulatory requirements for pharmacovigilance.
• Experience with safety databases and adverse event reporting systems.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills, with strong attention to detail in Scotland .
