Pharmacovigilance Officer

About the Role

Our client, a well-established pharmaceutical entity, is seeking a vigilant and methodical Pharmacovigilance Officer to join their safety team in Plymouth . This role is integral to ensuring the ongoing safety of pharmaceutical products by monitoring, detecting, and responding to adverse events. You will be responsible for managing safety databases, performing case assessments, and ensuring compliance with global pharmacovigilance regulations. Key Responsibilities

• Receive, process, and assess adverse event reports from various sources (healthcare professionals, patients, literature).
• Ensure timely and accurate entry of safety data into the pharmacovigilance database.
• Perform initial case evaluations, determine seriousness and expectedness, and escalate critical cases as needed.
• Contribute to the preparation of periodic safety update reports (PSURs) and risk management plans (RMPs).
• Ensure compliance with global pharmacovigilance regulations, guidelines, and company SOPs.
• Collaborate with internal departments (e.g., Medical, Regulatory) and external partners on safety-related matters.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy, Nursing, Life Sciences, or a related healthcare field.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in pharmacovigilance or drug safety.
• Good understanding of global pharmacovigilance regulations and principles.
• Familiarity with safety databases and adverse event reporting systems.
• Strong analytical skills and meticulous attention to detail in data handling.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to document information clearly and concisely.
