Pharmacovigilance Officer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a vigilant and meticulous Pharmacovigilance Officer to join their safety surveillance team in Wolverhampton . This critical role involves ensuring the safety of patients by monitoring, collecting, and analyzing adverse event data for pharmaceutical products. You will play a key part in maintaining compliance with global safety regulations and contributing to the ongoing risk management of our client's medicines. This is an important position within a dedicated team, focused on protecting public health and upholding the highest standards of drug safety. The role requires a proactive approach to identifying and mitigating potential safety issues.

Key Responsibilities

• Collect, process, and evaluate adverse event reports from various sources (e.g., healthcare professionals, patients, literature).
• Ensure timely and accurate reporting of safety information to regulatory authorities and internal stakeholders.
• Conduct signal detection activities to identify potential new safety concerns related to pharmaceutical products.
• Contribute to the preparation of Periodic Safety Update Reports (PSURs) and Risk Management Plans (RMPs).
• Maintain the pharmacovigilance database and ensure data integrity and quality.
• Collaborate with internal departments and external partners on safety-related matters.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a healthcare-related field (e.g., Pharmacy, Nursing, Life Sciences).
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in pharmacovigilance or drug safety.
• Thorough understanding of global pharmacovigilance regulations (e.g., GVP, FDA regulations).
• Experience with pharmacovigilance databases and safety reporting systems.
• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
