About the Role
Our client is seeking a vigilant and conscientious Pharmacovigilance Officer to join their safety surveillance team based in Edinburgh . This critical role involves monitoring the safety of marketed pharmaceutical products and investigational drugs, ensuring patient safety is paramount. You will be responsible for collecting, assessing, and reporting adverse event data, maintaining regulatory compliance, and contributing to the overall safety profile of our client's medicines. This is an essential function within the pharmaceutical industry, offering a stable and impactful career path.
Key Responsibilities
- Collect, document, and assess adverse event reports from various sources.
- Ensure timely and accurate reporting of safety data to regulatory authorities and internal stakeholders.
- Contribute to the preparation of Periodic Safety Update Reports (PSURs) and other safety documents.
- Monitor safety literature and databases for emerging safety signals.
- Collaborate with clinical, regulatory, and medical affairs teams on safety-related issues.
- Participate in the development and maintenance of pharmacovigilance procedures and training materials.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy, Nursing, Life Sciences, or a related healthcare field.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in pharmacovigilance or drug safety.
- Solid understanding of global pharmacovigilance regulations and reporting requirements.
- Experience with adverse event reporting databases and safety systems.
- Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
