Planner Scheduler

Location: Birmingham – B29 5UT Rate: £16.91 per hour Contract: Temporary Duration: Minimum 6 months Positions: 2

We are currently looking for 2 experienced Planners to join a busy repairs and maintenance team based in Birmingham. This is a minimum 6-month temporary position, offering a strong opportunity for candidates with planning, scheduling or housing repairs experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and schedule daily workloads for operatives and engineers.

• Allocate jobs according to priority, location, trade and availability.

• Manage operative diaries and ensure appointments are scheduled efficiently.

• Coordinate reactive and planned maintenance works.

• Liaise with residents, operatives, contractors and internal teams.

• Contact residents to arrange and confirm repair appointments.

• Monitor outstanding jobs and chase operatives or contractors where required.

• Reschedule appointments and reorganise workloads when circumstances change.

• Ensure urgent and emergency repairs are prioritised appropriately.

• Monitor jobs against SLA and KPI targets.

• Update repairs and scheduling systems with accurate job and appointment information.

• Assist with resolving access issues, missed appointments and outstanding works.

• Maintain accurate records and provide updates to management where required.

• Work effectively in a high-volume environment while maintaining excellent customer service.

Requirements

• Previous experience as a Planner, Scheduler, Repairs Planner or Maintenance Coordinator.

• Social housing or repairs and maintenance experience would be highly advantageous.

• Strong organisational and time-management skills.

• Confident communicating with residents, contractors and operatives.

• Good IT skills and experience using scheduling or repairs management systems.

• Ability to prioritise workloads and work to strict deadlines.

• Strong attention to detail and accurate administration.

• Comfortable working in a busy office environment.
