Job Description
We are looking for a Planning Manager to join a client on a contract basis.

- 6 month rolling contract
Main Responsibilities
- Lead the preparation, implementation, monitoring and review of the Minerals and Waste Local Plan.
- Manage all aspects of development management, including planning applications, appeals, enforcement, site monitoring and pre-application advice.
- Deliver a high-quality, customer-focused planning service through effective stakeholder engagement and collaboration.
- Lead, manage and develop the planning team, including performance management, workload allocation, training and mentoring.
- Oversee team budgets, resources, projects and work programmes to ensure delivery within agreed timescales and financial targets.
- Prepare and present reports, recommendations and professional advice to committees, decision-makers and other stakeholders.
- Represent and defend the Council's position at planning appeals, hearings, inquiries and court proceedings.
- Monitor and respond to changes in planning legislation, policy and consultations, providing expert advice as required.
