About the Role
Our client, a well-established chemical manufacturing facility, is seeking a proactive Plant Chemical Engineer to contribute to the efficiency and reliability of their operations in Nottingham . This role involves providing engineering support for day-to-day plant activities, troubleshooting process issues, and implementing improvements to enhance safety, quality, and productivity. You will work closely with operations, maintenance, and quality teams to ensure the smooth running of the plant and to support ongoing optimization efforts. This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer looking to gain broad experience in a manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical support to production teams to resolve process-related issues in a timely manner.
- Identify opportunities for process optimization and implement changes to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
- Ensure plant operations comply with all health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Assist in the development and updating of operating procedures and safety protocols.
- Participate in Process Hazard Analyses (PHAs) and implement recommended safety actions.
- Support maintenance activities by providing technical expertise for equipment repair and upgrades in Nottingham .
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering .
- 1-3 years of experience in a plant engineering or process engineering role within the chemical industry.
- Solid understanding of chemical unit operations and manufacturing principles.
- Familiarity with process safety management concepts.
- Good problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
