Plant Operations Manager

About the Role

Our client is looking for a strategic and results-oriented Plant Operations Manager to lead their manufacturing facility in Cardiff . This leadership position demands a strong understanding of production, logistics, and team management to ensure efficient and cost-effective operations. You will be responsible for the overall performance of the plant, driving operational excellence, and fostering a culture of safety and continuous improvement. Key Responsibilities

• Oversee all aspects of plant operations, including production, maintenance, logistics, and supply chain management.
• Develop and implement operational strategies to meet production targets, quality standards, and cost objectives.
• Manage and develop the plant workforce, ensuring optimal staffing levels, performance management, and employee engagement.
• Ensure compliance with all health, safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
• Implement and maintain lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and reduce waste.
• Manage the plant budget, control operational expenditures, and identify cost-saving opportunities.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, Engineering, or a related field.
• Significant experience (5+ years) in a plant management or senior operations leadership role within manufacturing.
• Demonstrated experience in lean manufacturing and process improvement methodologies.
• Proven track record of managing budgets, P&L, and achieving operational KPIs.
• Strong leadership, communication, and decision-making skills.
• Familiarity with relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations.
