Job Description
This temporary Postal Delivery Driver role in Brighton offers £13.69 per hour through Pertemps, supporting Royal Mail from late October. Working various shifts across Monday to Friday plus weekends, the successful candidate sorts and loads mail at the local delivery office before completing rounds on foot or by vehicle, covering up to eight miles daily. Duties include using a handheld device for signature capture and navigation, plus lifting mail bags and parcels weighing up to 20kg. Applicants need customer service skills, physical fitness, and the ability to work independently outdoors in all weather. Weekend availability is essential for this position.

Key Responsibilities
- Start your shift at the local delivery office to sort and load your deliveries
- Use a handheld device for signature capture and route navigation
- Deliver letters and parcels by foot and/or vehicle – walking up to 8 miles per day
- Lift and carry mail bags (up to 16kg) and parcels (up to 20kg)
- Use delivery trolleys when required
Requirements
- Full UK manual driving licence (maximum 6 points; clean licence preferred) Need to have held your license for 6 months.
- Previous delivery or driving experience is beneficial but not essential
- Excellent time management and customer service skills
- Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions
