Postdoctoral Researcher - Genomics

About the Role

Our client is seeking a dedicated and scientifically rigorous Postdoctoral Researcher to contribute to groundbreaking genomics research based in Birmingham . Key Responsibilities

• Design and execute experiments related to human genomics and population genetics.
• Perform in-depth analysis of next-generation sequencing (NGS) data, including variant calling, annotation, and association studies.
• Develop and implement computational pipelines for genomic data processing and interpretation.
• Collaborate with team members to integrate genomic findings with clinical and phenotypic data.
• Prepare research findings for presentations at scientific meetings and for publication in reputable journals.
• Maintain accurate and comprehensive records of experimental procedures and data.

Requirements

• Ph.D. in Genomics, Bioinformatics, Genetics, or a related field.
• Demonstrated experience in analyzing large-scale genomic datasets and proficiency in relevant bioinformatics tools and programming languages (e.g., Python, R).
• Strong understanding of next-generation sequencing technologies and their applications.
• Experience with statistical genetics and population genetics concepts is highly desirable.
• Excellent scientific writing and presentation skills.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative research team in Birmingham .
