Postdoctoral Researcher - Genomics

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Researcher to join their cutting-edge Genomics research group in Leeds . This role focuses on investigating the genetic basis of complex diseases and identifying novel therapeutic targets. You will be responsible for designing and conducting experiments, analyzing large-scale genomic datasets, and contributing to high-impact scientific publications. This position is lab-based, requiring full-time dedication to the research project within our advanced facilities, offering an excellent opportunity to gain in-depth experience in a dynamic and collaborative research environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and execute experiments related to human genetics and disease association studies.
• Perform comprehensive analysis of next-generation sequencing (NGS) data using various bioinformatics tools.
• Develop and validate novel genomic assays and protocols.
• Interpret research findings and contribute to the writing of manuscripts for peer-reviewed publications.
• Present research progress at internal meetings and scientific conferences.
• Collaborate with other researchers within the department and externally.

Requirements

• Ph.D. in Genomics, Molecular Biology, Genetics, or a related field.
• Demonstrated experience in designing and conducting experiments in a research laboratory.
• Proficiency in analyzing large-scale genomic datasets, including GWAS, WGS, and RNA-Seq.
• Strong understanding of statistical genetics principles.
• Experience with relevant bioinformatics software and programming languages (e.g., R, Python).
• Excellent scientific writing and presentation skills.
