About the Role
Our client is seeking a diligent Power Distribution Electrical Engineer to enhance their infrastructure team in Bradford . This role focuses on the design, implementation, and maintenance of reliable electrical power distribution networks. You will play a key role in ensuring the stable and efficient supply of power across various company facilities, involving network analysis, protection schemes, and substation design. This is an ideal opportunity for an engineer with a specialization in power systems to contribute to critical infrastructure projects and uphold operational continuity.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and engineer electrical power distribution systems, including substations, switchgear, and cable networks.
- Perform load flow studies, fault analysis, and protection coordination for power distribution systems.
- Develop detailed electrical schematics, single-line diagrams, and installation specifications.
- Oversee the installation, commissioning, and maintenance of power distribution equipment.
- Ensure all designs comply with national and international electrical safety standards and codes.
- Collaborate with project teams, contractors, and utility providers to manage power infrastructure projects effectively.
Requirements
- BEng or MEng in Electrical Engineering with a specialization in Power Systems.
- 4-6 years of experience in the design and management of electrical power distribution systems.
- Proficiency in power system analysis software (e.g., ETAP, PSS/E, DIgSILENT).
- Solid understanding of electrical protection principles, switchgear technology, and substation design.
- Experience with grid connection requirements and utility liaison.
- Strong project coordination and communication skills.
