About the Role
Our client seeks an analytical and skilled Power Systems Electrical Engineer to contribute to their projects in Bradford, West Yorkshire, UK . This role focuses on the design, analysis, and integration of robust power systems, ensuring reliability, efficiency, and safety. You will work on diverse projects, from grid connections to substation design and renewable energy integration, playing a key part in developing and maintaining critical infrastructure. The successful candidate will possess a strong theoretical foundation in power engineering and practical experience in applying these principles.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and analyze electrical power systems, including load flow, short circuit, and protection studies.
- Develop specifications for power equipment such as transformers, switchgear, and generators.
- Ensure designs comply with national grid codes and relevant electrical safety standards.
- Oversee the installation and commissioning of power system components.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to power system performance and reliability.
- Prepare technical reports, proposals, and project documentation.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, with a specialization in Power Systems.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in power system design, analysis, or operations.
- Proficiency in power system analysis software (e.g., PSS/E, ETAP, DigSILENT PowerFactory).
- Knowledge of high voltage (HV) and medium voltage (MV) systems.
- Experience with grid code compliance and renewable energy integration is a plus.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
