About the Role
Our client is seeking a skilled Power Systems Electrical Engineer to join their growing team in Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire . This role is integral to the design, analysis, and implementation of robust power systems for a variety of infrastructure and industrial applications. You will be responsible for ensuring the reliability, efficiency, and safety of electrical power networks, working with state-of-the-art tools and technologies. The ideal candidate possesses a strong analytical mindset and a passion for power engineering challenges within a collaborative project environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop high-voltage and low-voltage power distribution systems.
- Perform power system studies, including load flow, fault analysis, and stability analysis.
- Specify and select power system equipment such as transformers, switchgear, and protection relays.
- Oversee the installation, testing, and commissioning of power system components.
- Ensure compliance with national and international electrical standards and safety regulations.
- Collaborate with project managers and clients to define project scope and technical requirements.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, specializing in Power Systems.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in power systems engineering.
- Proficiency with power system analysis software (e.g., ETAP, PSS/E, PSCAD).
- In-depth knowledge of power generation, transmission, and distribution principles.
- Experience with protection and control systems design.
- Strong report writing and presentation skills.
