About the Role
Our client is seeking a dedicated Power Systems Electrical Engineer to join their specialist team in Reading . This role is critical for the design, analysis, and implementation of reliable and efficient power systems for a variety of projects. You will work on-site, collaborating closely with other engineering disciplines to ensure the seamless integration and optimal performance of power infrastructure. Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop electrical power distribution systems, including substations and grid connections.
- Perform load flow, short circuit, and stability studies using specialized power system analysis software.
- Specify and select power system equipment such as transformers, switchgear, and protective relays.
- Ensure designs comply with national and international electrical codes and standards.
- Collaborate with project managers and field engineers during project execution and commissioning.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues related to power system performance and reliability.
Requirements
- Degree in Electrical Engineering with a specialization in Power Systems.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in power system design and analysis.
- Proficiency with power system simulation software (e.g., PSS/E, ETAP, DigSilent PowerFactory).
- Strong understanding of power generation, transmission, and distribution principles.
- Knowledge of protection and control schemes for power systems.
- Excellent analytical and communication skills required for on-site collaboration.
