About the Role
Our client is seeking a skilled Power Systems Electrical Engineer to contribute to critical infrastructure projects based in Edinburgh . This role involves the design, analysis, and implementation of electrical power systems, with a hybrid working model enabling both focused office-based work and remote collaboration. You will be involved in projects related to power generation, transmission, and distribution, ensuring the reliability, safety, and efficiency of electrical networks. Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop electrical power systems, including substations, transmission lines, and distribution networks.
- Conduct power flow, short circuit, and stability studies using specialized software.
- Ensure compliance with national and international standards for power system design and operation.
- Collaborate with project teams, clients, and regulatory bodies to ensure successful project outcomes.
- Specify electrical equipment such as transformers, switchgear, and protection relays.
- Provide technical support and expertise during the construction and commissioning phases.
Requirements
- Degree in Electrical Engineering with a specialization in power systems.
- Extensive experience in the design and analysis of electrical power systems.
- Proficiency in power system analysis software (e.g., PSS/E, ETAP, PSCAD).
- In-depth knowledge of power system protection, fault analysis, and load forecasting.
- Familiarity with renewable energy integration is a plus.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
