About the Role

Our client is seeking a specialized Power Systems Engineer to join their established team in Manchester . This role focuses on the design, analysis, and operation of electrical power systems, ensuring reliability, efficiency, and safety. You will be instrumental in developing solutions for power generation, transmission, and distribution challenges. This position requires a dedicated individual who thrives in a hands-on, collaborative environment, contributing directly to the stability and advancement of critical energy infrastructure within the UK, based predominantly at our Manchester facility.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze and model electrical power systems to assess performance, stability, and reliability.
• Design and specify components for power generation, transmission, and distribution networks.
• Develop protection schemes and control strategies for power system operation.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to power system faults and disturbances.
• Collaborate with utility companies and other stakeholders on grid integration and operational planning.
• Stay abreast of advancements in power system technology and regulatory requirements.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Electrical Engineering with a specialization in Power Systems .
• Significant experience in power system analysis, design, and operation.
• Proficiency with power system simulation software (e.g., PSS/E, ETAP, PSCAD).
• Deep understanding of grid codes, protection relays, and fault analysis.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
• Willingness to work on-site in Manchester and occasionally travel to project sites.
