Power Systems Engineer

Our client is recruiting a skilled Power Systems Engineer to join their team in Birmingham . This role is integral to the design, operation, and maintenance of critical power infrastructure. Key Responsibilities

• Design and analyze electrical power systems, including generation, transmission, and distribution.
• Perform load flow studies, short-circuit calculations, and stability analyses using specialized software.
• Develop and implement protection schemes and control systems for power networks.
• Conduct site inspections and technical assessments of power equipment and facilities.
• Collaborate with project managers and stakeholders to ensure project milestones are met on time and within budget.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to power system operation and performance.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
• At least 4 years of professional experience in power system engineering.
• Proficiency in power system simulation software such as PSS/E, ETAP, or DigSilent PowerFactory.
• Strong knowledge of grid codes , international standards, and safety regulations.
• Experience with SCADA systems and distributed energy resources (DERs) is desirable.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work effectively in a hybrid model.
