About the Role
Our client is seeking a specialized Power Systems Engineer to join their remote team. This role focuses on the design, analysis, and implementation of robust power systems for various applications. As a fully remote position, you will have the autonomy to manage your workload and contribute from anywhere within the UK. You will be instrumental in ensuring the reliability, efficiency, and safety of our power infrastructure and client projects. Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop high-voltage and low-voltage power distribution systems.
- Perform power system studies, including load flow, short circuit, and stability analysis.
- Specify and select power system equipment such as transformers, switchgear, and protection relays.
- Develop protection schemes and coordinate relay settings for optimal system performance and safety.
- Create detailed engineering drawings, specifications, and documentation for power system projects.
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting for existing power systems, identifying and resolving issues.
Requirements
- Degree in Electrical Engineering with a specialization in Power Systems.
- Minimum of 6 years of progressive experience in power system engineering.
- Proficiency with power system analysis software (e.g., ETAP, PSS/E, DigSilent PowerFactory).
- Strong understanding of power generation, transmission, and distribution concepts.
- Experience with electrical protection principles and equipment.
- Excellent analytical skills and the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote setting.
