Power Systems Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a dedicated Power Systems Engineer to join their team in Sheffield . This role is critical for ensuring the efficient, reliable, and safe operation of power infrastructure. You will be involved in the analysis, design, and maintenance of power systems, working on projects that are vital to the company's operations. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of electrical power principles and a hands-on approach to problem-solving. This is a non-remote position offering the chance to work on significant infrastructure projects and contribute directly to the stability and growth of the company's energy capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze power system performance, identify potential issues, and recommend solutions.
• Design and develop electrical distribution systems and associated components.
• Conduct load flow studies, short circuit analysis, and protection coordination studies.
• Oversee the installation, commissioning, and maintenance of power system equipment.
• Ensure compliance with national and international standards for power system design and operation.
• Prepare technical reports, specifications, and project documentation.

Requirements

• Degree in Electrical Engineering with a specialization in Power Systems.
• 3-5 years of experience in power systems analysis and design.
• Proficiency with power system simulation software (e.g., ETAP, PSS/E).
• Strong knowledge of electrical protection schemes and equipment.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a team and independently on site.
