About the Role
Our client requires a skilled and motivated Power Systems Engineer to contribute to the development and operation of our advanced energy infrastructure in Leeds . This hybrid role involves a mix of on-site work at our facilities and remote collaboration, allowing you to engage directly with physical assets while maintaining the flexibility to work from home. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the reliability, efficiency, and safety of our power systems, working on grid integration, network analysis, and system upgrades to support the evolving energy landscape.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform power flow, fault level, and stability analysis for electrical power systems .
- Design and specify power system components, including transformers, switchgear, and protection relays.
- Develop and implement grid connection studies and strategies for new energy projects.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to power system operation and maintenance.
- Contribute to the development and testing of new power system technologies and control schemes.
Requirements
- Degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related discipline.
- Experience with power system analysis software (e.g., PSS/E, DIgSILENT PowerFactory, ETAP).
- Knowledge of power system protection, control, and grid integration principles.
- Familiarity with relevant industry standards and regulations in the UK.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with good communication skills.
