Power Systems Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced Power Systems Engineer to contribute to critical infrastructure projects from their offices in Reading . This role involves the analysis, design, and implementation of robust power systems, ensuring reliability and efficiency. You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of engineers and project managers, playing a key role in delivering high-quality power solutions. The hybrid nature of this role allows for a dynamic work experience, combining team collaboration with personal flexibility.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze power system requirements and design appropriate electrical infrastructure.
• Perform load flow analysis , short circuit calculations, and protection studies.
• Develop technical specifications for power generation, distribution, and control equipment.
• Oversee the installation and commissioning of power systems, ensuring compliance with standards.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to power system performance and stability.
• Prepare detailed reports, documentation, and project proposals related to power systems engineering.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering with a specialization in Power Systems.
• Proven experience in power system design, analysis, and protection.
• Proficiency with power system simulation software (e.g., ETAP, PSS/E, DIgSILENT PowerFactory).
• Strong understanding of grid codes, relevant standards, and regulatory frameworks.
• Experience with renewable energy integration or high-voltage systems is advantageous.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
