PPA Cover Teacher – Primary
Location: Southwark, South London Salary: £160–£200 per day, depending on experience Contract: Full-time, long-term temporary Start date: 21 September 2026
An inclusive inner-city primary school in Southwark is looking for a confident PPA Cover Teacher to teach across its vibrant and diverse community. This long-term opportunity suits a teacher who thrives on variety and can deliver engaging lessons while preserving each class’s established routines.
You will work from teacher-prepared plans and collaborate with phase teams to ensure continuity of learning. The school values culturally responsive teaching, high expectations and a warm, respectful classroom climate.
Key responsibilities
Deliver planned lessons across EYFS, KS1 and KS2 as timetabled
Make learning accessible to pupils with SEND, EAL and varied starting points
Maintain positive behaviour and safe classroom routines
Assess understanding and leave clear feedback for class teachers
Mark work in accordance with school expectations
Build positive relationships quickly across the school
The ideal PPA Cover Teacher will have:
UK QTS and strong recent primary-school experience
Secure knowledge across the primary curriculum
Excellent behaviour-management and communication skills
Flexibility, resilience and confidence in new classes
The right to work in the UK
