PPA Teacher

Location: St Helens, Merseyside Start date: 2nd November Contract: Long-term Hours: Monday to Thursday Pay: £135 to £250 per day, depending on experience and AWR

Teaching Personnel is recruiting a KS2 PPA Teacher for a welcoming Catholic primary school in St Helens. The successful teacher will provide planned cover across Key Stage 2, helping the school release class teachers for their planning, preparation and assessment time.

This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys teaching different year groups but would prefer the consistency of working within one school.

The role

You will teach across Years 3 to 6, following planning and schemes already in place wherever possible.

Your responsibilities will include:

Delivering engaging lessons across KS2 Providing reliable PPA cover for class teachers Maintaining established classroom routines and behaviour expectations Adapting activities for pupils with different abilities and additional needs Working effectively with Teaching Assistants and support staff Using questioning and assessment to check pupil understanding Marking work and leaving clear feedback for the class teacher Following the school’s safeguarding, behaviour and curriculum policies Building positive relationships across different classes Contributing to the wider life and Catholic ethos of the school The timetable may include a mixture of core and foundation subjects, so the successful teacher should be comfortable teaching across the wider primary curriculum.

Hold Qualified Teacher Status Have experience teaching within KS2 Can move confidently between different year groups Establish routines and expectations quickly Have a calm and consistent approach to behaviour Can adapt teaching without disrupting the sequence of learning Communicate clearly with teachers, Teaching Assistants and senior leaders Are organised, dependable and able to work independently Are comfortable working within and supporting the values of a Catholic school Applications are welcome from experienced teachers, ECTs with strong KS2 placement experience, returning teachers and regular supply teachers looking for a more consistent school.
