Location: London (across three offices)
Salary: Competitive (DOE)
An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Practice Manager to join a well-established, Legal 500-ranked law firm recognised by The Times Best Law Firms . This is a hands-on leadership role supporting the partners with the day-to-day operational management of a growing, multi-office practice.
The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the smooth running of the firm, maintaining regulatory compliance and driving operational improvements across the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the day-to-day operational management of the firm's three offices.
- Ensure compliance with SRA regulations and prepare for regulatory and HMRC audits.
- Manage and improve internal compliance procedures, risk management and governance.
- Oversee practice management systems and operational processes.
- Support the Criminal, Civil and Conveyancing teams with operational best practice.
- Manage credit control processes and work with fee earners to improve cash collection.
- Oversee HR operations, ensuring compliance with current and forthcoming employment legislation.
- Review and implement policies, procedures and operational improvements.
- Work closely with the partners to support the firm's continued growth and strategic objectives.
- Lead and support administrative and operational staff across the business.
About You
To be successful, you will ideally have:
- Previous experience as a Practice Manager, Legal Operations Manager or similar within a law firm.
- Experience working within a multi-office legal practice.
- Strong understanding of SRA compliance, Solicitors Accounts Rules and regulatory requirements.
- Experience preparing for SRA and HMRC audits.
- Knowledge of Criminal and Civil law environments, with exposure to Conveyancing highly advantageous.
- Experience overseeing HR, operational management and credit control.
- Excellent organisational, leadership and communication skills.
- A proactive, commercially minded approach with the ambition to contribute to the firm's future growth.
