About the Role
Our client is seeking an innovative Precision Agriculture Specialist to join their remote-based team, supporting agricultural operations across the UK with a focus on the Cambridge region. This role is at the forefront of agricultural technology, utilizing data-driven insights to optimize farm management practices. You will work with farmers and agronomists to implement and manage precision farming techniques, including GPS guidance, variable rate application, drone imagery analysis, and farm management software. The successful candidate will be passionate about leveraging technology to enhance efficiency, sustainability, and profitability in agriculture, driving the adoption of advanced solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement and manage precision agriculture technologies such as GPS guidance systems, VRT applicators, and soil mapping tools.
- Analyze data from various sources, including sensors, drones, satellite imagery, and farm machinery, to provide actionable insights.
- Develop customized farm management plans based on precision data to optimize input application (fertilizers, pesticides, water).
- Provide training and support to farmers and farm staff on the use of precision agriculture equipment and software.
- Evaluate new agricultural technologies and recommend their adoption to improve farm operations.
- Monitor the performance of precision agriculture systems and troubleshoot any technical issues.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Precision Agriculture, Agricultural Engineering, Agronomy, or a related field.
- Proven experience in implementing and managing precision agriculture technologies .
- Strong understanding of data analysis, GIS, remote sensing, and farm management software.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication and training abilities to work with diverse agricultural stakeholders.
- Familiarity with agricultural machinery and sensor technology.
