About the Role
Our client is seeking an experienced Precision Agriculture Specialist to join their innovative team, working entirely remotely. This role will focus on implementing and optimizing data-driven farming techniques using GPS, sensors, variable rate technology, and data analytics. You will work with farmers and agronomists to interpret field data, develop customized management zones, and guide the strategic application of inputs like fertilizers and water for maximum efficiency and environmental benefit. This is a key position for driving the adoption of smart farming solutions, enabling clients to improve yields, reduce costs, and minimize their environmental footprint, all from a remote work setup, contributing to sustainable agriculture in the South West England region and beyond.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement and manage precision agriculture technologies on client farms.
- Analyze geospatial data, soil maps, and yield data to create variable rate application prescriptions.
- Advise farmers on the optimal use of GPS guidance, auto-steering, and other precision farming tools.
- Train clients and farm staff on the operation and benefits of precision agriculture systems.
- Evaluate new technologies and software for potential adoption.
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting for precision agriculture equipment and software.
Requirements
- Degree in Agriculture, Agronomy, Agricultural Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in precision agriculture, agronomy, or farm management.
- Deep understanding of GPS, VRT, soil sampling, and data analysis in agriculture.
- Proficiency with precision agriculture software platforms (e.g., John Deere Operations Center, Trimble Ag Software).
- Excellent communication and client-facing skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly.
